Why do you tutor at KYP? I tutor because tutoring is something I have a passion for.  I tutor the grade 6 pupils in numeracy and English.

What is your favorite thing about KYP? My favourite thing about KYP is the fact that it grooms and grows young people into great leaders for the future.  You are taught to make right decisions for your life at such a young age.

What are your hopes for your students? My hope for my students is to see them educated, because when they have ownership of their education, no one can take that away from them.  I hope as they grow they realise how challenging life is, and they will see education as a solution to better themselves and their families.

What made choose to sacrifice your free time to come and tutor at KYP? I believe strongly in the saying “one hand helps another.”  It makes me feel good to help the community I grew up in.  Not only is this helping the students, but it’s helping me too as a tutor.  My confidence is growing every day being with the kids.

What difference is the KYP tutoring program is making in the children’s lives? KYP creates well structured learning assistance for the students, and it creates opportunities for them to dream big.

What does KYP mean to you? KYP means development in our community for future transformation.
