HELP OUR MEMBERS TRANSFORM THEIR LIVES

402 - Can_t Afford School.jpg

Most kids in Kliptown can't afford school.

Every KYP member signs a contract: they must attend school every day and work hard. In exchange, KYP takes care of the cost of school fees, uniforms, and supplies for every student who cannot afford them.

KYP'S TUTORING PROGRAM CHANGES LIVES.

The pass rate for the high school matriculation exam s is far higher than the average for all Kliptown students.  Since our grade 12s began taking the matric 11 years ago, more than 4 out of 5 of our students have passed, while only 1 in 3 students in Kliptown pass, on average.

KYP members are now attending university and are in the workforce

Before KYP, it was almost impossible for a resident of Kliptown to make it to tertiary education.  KYP has sent over 20.  And we have over 30 of our members employed full-time on our wall of fame.

KYP leaders show kids they can do something positive with their lives.

KYP leaders grew up in Kliptown. Every day they help kids, provide them with a safe environment, and encourage them to believe in themselves. They serve as positive role models and are real-life examples of how KYP members can make a positive impact on the world.
